Phone says downloading essage but nothing happens on android

Now no emails are downloaded automatically. If I select download emails, as message appears bottom left saying " downloading messages 1 of After a minute or so the message then goes. But comes back if I ask it to collect mail again. Log into the webmail site of the problem account and delete the problem mail or move it out of the Inbox.

Messages with pictures attached are MMS, and require an Internet connection, and often a specifically configured APN provider specific, so you might need to contact your carrier. Everything else seems to work except this. I will have to read about APN, not sure what that is. Izzy is mostly right. This is largely a case of incorrect APN settings. But using custom ROMs with modified-who-knows-what , I usually have problems, and am not able to download them. I can modify the APN somewhat, but it still has quirks.
