From your post, I understand that your podcasts are no longer automatically downloading. This has occurred since you installed a recent iOS update on your iPhone. I'd be happy to help! First, I recommend checking your Apple Podcast download settings. This can be done as described in the iPhone User Guide here: Change the download settings for a subscribed podcast.
If the automatic download setting is selected, turn it off, then force close Apple Podcasts as detailed here: Force an app to close on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Then, turn the automatic download option back on.
